In a statement, the LCPS said it would take the issue to the state Supreme Court.
“The LCPS disagrees with the Circuit Court’s decision to issue an injunction with respect. and is appealing this decision to the Supreme Court of Virginia,” the statement said.
“Leesburg Elementary School and Loudoun County Public Schools have suffered – and are still experiencing significant disruption – since the May 25 school board meeting during which Cross addressed the board. Many students and parents at Leesburg Elementary express fear, pain and disappointment about coming to school. Addressing these concerns is critical to the School Department̵7;s goal of providing a safe, friendly, and affirming learning environment for all students, while the LCPS respects the right of public school employees to speak up. Cross sparked an uproar last month when he told the LCPS’s school board that he would not “confirm that a biological boy can be a girl and vice versa because it is against my religion. It lies to children. It is a child abuse and a sin against our God.”
