The possible release of the Pixel 6 “Pro” has us wondering what you might think about the proposed name change from the original standard and XL variant. Turns out you have a lot to say.
We had a huge response to our original poll, asking what you think the naming convention for the Pixel 6 should be. And we have to say that the results are not as predictable as we thought. Of the thousands of votes we’ve received, only 45% of you would like Google to adopt the familiar “Pixel 6 and 6 XL” paradigm — helping to keep the weirdness of 2020.
That said, the idea of a “Pro”
; version with more features and additional hardware makes sense from a different standpoint of the device. 36.21% of you guys agree, thinking that Google should push the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro as the namesake of its shipmates. late flag 2021If the rumors are to be believed and the larger model will come with added camera hardware and display differences then it will start to make sense. It is already larger than the previous XL variant. The Standard and Pro models are more suitable this year.
16.78% of you don’t care what Google calls or names the Pixel 6 series, which is fair enough. The name really doesn’t matter if Google can’t nail this device the sixth time it asks. There have been too many glitches in recent years and the perfect killer Pixel is a must for Google this time.
We also have some great Pixel 6 name suggestions, likely from 1.91% who voted “Other.” Our personal favorites are Mike Shwilly’s tongue-in-cheek “Pixel 6a Lite 4G” and “Pixel 6 XL.” Pro-Series 5G” That would be good in the upcoming marketing campaign for sure.
