Video from NASCAR.com shows Gray Gaulding and Joe Graf Jr. battling each other after Sunday’s Xfinity Series race at Martinsville Speedway.
The video begins with Gaulding lying on the ground as the others try to separate Graf and Gaulding, a NASCAR officer pulling the driver apart.
Gaulding was running behind Graf Jr. when contact was made on Round 176 of 250 races that sent Graf’s car to hit Blaine Perkins’ car, and the pair crashed.
Graf told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio that he approached Gaulding after the race to discuss the incident.
“There were about 75 laps to go, Gray destroyed us and (Perkins) drove us to a corner and wrecked us to the end of our day,”; Graf told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Went and talked to him, and he spoke to me and had his fist thrown at it. I landed with a couple.
“The garage was full of drivers pretending they were strong. But how hard will they find them if they compete against me like that and run at me? Just ask Gray how he’s doing right now. I’m sure he needs an ice pack. “
Graf said he was upset that Golding said his dealings were payback.
“I went up to him,” Graf said. “I’m still quite upset. I asked him why he destroyed us. He tried to say that he was just paying us back for the previous race. I can’t remember any time earlier in a race where I hit him like that or crashed him like that. I don’t have it He tried to blame me. That is definitely not my fault. “
Graf said he met with NASCAR officials after the incident.
The catch was completed on 21. The graph is ranked 38 in the 40-car field.
Josh Berry won the Xfinity race in his first career.
