In terms of SoC powering the Redmi Note 10 Pro, we found the Snapdragon 732G, a Snapdragon 730 in the trash, found on last year’s Redmi Note 10 Lite, a very similar chip to the Snapdragon 720 in the previous Note 9 Pro. The SoC features 2x Cortex-A76 cores at 2.3GHz, which acts as a chip performance processor alongside 6x Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz.

The phone’s CPU and general-use performance are excellent for devices in this price range and are a departure from the lowest performance of budget devices over the years. Compared to Note 9 Pro, the improvements in that era are much less.

The Adreno 618 GPU isn’t something to be written about, however its performance can be surprisingly high for the segment, and it still outperforms the odd performance of much more expensive devices like the Pixel 4 XL or Pixel 5.

Xiaomi is installing a base version of the Note 10 Pro with 6GB of LPDDR4X memory and 64GB of UFS 2.2 memory, which is upgraded to 128GB for the higher storage version and finally with an 8 + 128GB combination. That is quite strange for the maximum configuration. The phone has expandable storage via a dedicated microSD slot where a separate tray can hold two nanoSIM cards.

Connections on the device are pretty common, no 5G or WiFi 6 to be found here. But in general as to be expected, it has an IR blaster, although it is quite rare nowadays.

The biggest feature of the new Note 10 Pro is the display. It has the same size and resolution as its predecessor, 6.67 ”and 2400 x 1080.The big difference this year is the fact that Xiaomi has switched to an OLED display in place of the previous iteration of the IPS LCD. I have always considered OLED to differentiate key features in these price groups and give the Redmi Note 10 Pro a significant advantage over other rivals.

In addition, not only But only a top quality OLED screen But it also has 120Hz refresh rate capability, making the phone even more attractive, since basically you won’t find this feature combination anywhere near this price point.

The only real nitpick I have to do about the display is the perforated front camera. It’s still a 16MP unit with f / 2.45, so in this regard, we don’t seem to have changed much. On my unit, however, the camera isn’t centered in the hole of the OLED panel, and the silver reflective highlight ring around the module draws more attention to it, which may not match everyone’s tastes.

The phone is larger, with a width of 76.5mm, but at least Xiaomi managed to reduce its weight a bit to 193g, all while retaining the same 5020mAh battery capacity of its predecessor. In terms of ergonomics, the phone has a curved glass back panel, which helps in handling relatively large phones.

The left side of the phone is bare except for the SIM and microSD slots, while the right side has a power button and volume button. Power button is a combo button and Capacitive fingerprint scanner with good quality clicking and good vertical positioning.

The rear camera setup gave me a sense of 80’s electronics – I wonder if this was objective, although Xiaomi advertised the phone as a four-camera device. But there are also just two everyday modules, a 5MP f / 2.4 macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor located between the main camera module and the ultra wide module.

The ultra-wide module appears to be the same as in the Note 9 Pro series, an 8MP 1.12μm unit with an extremely large 119 ° FoV / 13mm f / 2.2 lens.

The main camera is larger than the previous model. This is one of the first phones to feature Samsung’s new HM2 108MP module.Unlike other 108MP modules from Xiaomi or Samsung, it has 0.7μm smaller pixels, a 1 / 1.52 ” smaller sensor. Larger and somewhat larger than the 1 / 1.72 ”GW1 on the Note 9 Pro, the sensor here reduces the 3×3 pixel image size to 12MP with a 2.1μm equivalent pixel pitch, so each pixel should be 72% more light than the previous module, although It has lower resolution at 12MP compared to 16MP.

The lens is f / 1.9, with a focal length equivalent of 25mm, here there is no OIS – a compromise to be made at this price range.

A quick daylight camera performance test shows that the main module is fairly adequate, capable of providing a lot of detail in most situations, however conventional processing is not comparable to high-end devices as ours. Is seeing poor dynamic range and processing is relatively flat. Ultra wide, in particular, suffers a lot in demanding lighting situations, and HDR typically requires cameras and stationary subjects to avoid ghosting. All in all, it’s still a decent camera at this price point.

The phone’s top and bottom bezels have a matte finish and allow for better grip while avoiding more obvious fingerprints.

The phone has surprisingly good quality stereo speakers – we’ve seen Xiaomi develop some great usability over the past few years. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack, which has remained a unique feature on low-end devices in recent years.

Available today: Note 10S, Note 10 & Note 10 5G.

In addition to the Note 10 Pro, Xiaomi also released three other Redmi Note 10 devices along with the Note 10S, Note 10:

Redmi Note 10 for $ 199

The Redmi Note 10 is the smaller sibling of the Note 10 Pro, the differences between the devices are its 6.43-inch screen and different camera settings. The display is still an AMOLED display at 1080p, but doesn’t have a 120Hz refresh rate.

The main camera is a 48MP unit and the device is powered by a Snapdragon 678 SoC, with the device starting at $ 199.

Redmi Note 10S for $ 229

Redmi Note 10S is a high-end Note 10 with a smaller form factor. But it replaces the primary camera with the higher-end 64MP camera and replaces the SoC with the MediaTek Helio G95, starting at $ 229.

Redmi Note 10 5G for $ 199

Finally, the Redmi Note 10 5G is a very strange entry in this series. It is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 SoC, which is a low-end processor compared to other Note 10 devices, however, it differs from the only model with 5G connectivity.

The phone is the lowest-end model, with a 90Hz LCD display at 2400 x 1080 resolution. The feature is still the same basic 48MP main camera module as the Note 10, however, it doesn’t have an ultra-wide camera module.

The Note 10 5G’s price is still in the $ 199 price range.Essentially, you’re trading in an OLED display and ultra-wide camera module, and build a better design with a pair of 5G-capable dual speakers.Basically, I don’t think it’s worth it. With a compromise, so for me this is the least attractive device in the new lineup.

Great value equipment

Overall, I think Xiaomi has been doing really well with this round of Redmi Note 10 devices. While testing the Note 10 Pro, the Note 10 and Note 10S phones look attractive and great value for a price that ranges from $ 199 to $ 279. In basic configuration As stated earlier, my opinion last year is that the Note 9 Pro is one of the best value devices in this price range, and I think the Note 10 Pro and its smaller siblings are more interesting – to offer. Superior features and hardware or undercut Price competition In this regard, I don’t think you can go wrong with the new 2021 show.
