YouTube creator Austin McBroom’s fan meeting off Rodeo Drive; no arrest

An impromptu fan meeting for YouTube video creator Austin McBroom drew hundreds to Rodeo Drive on Saturday, temporarily closing a street famous for high-end shops and celebrity sightings.

McBroom on Instagram told fans to meet him on Rodeo Drive for a “pre-fight party” and a chance to win an autographed boxing glove ahead of June’s match with hundreds of fellow YouTuber and TikTok video creator Bryce Hall. Road closures were imposed between Wilshire and Santa Monica from 4:50 p.m. to 6:1

9 p.m.

350 to 500 attendees and about 30 police officers and 25 civilian aid workers were dispatched to the area. Dale Drummond with the Beverly Hills Police Department made no arrests.

Videos from McBroom’s social media accounts and footage posted on TikTok and Twitter show people walking and sometimes running through a shopping district in Beverly Hills with a piñata themed hawk. All

Saturday’s work is tame. Especially compared to the controversy that broke out two weeks ago between McBroom and Hall while promoting a celebrity boxing match at Fred Segal in West Hollywood, a video on social media showed Hall gaining followers. Nearly 20 million TikToks threw themselves in McBroom, where his family has roughly 19 million YouTube subscribers. Crowds quickly surrounded the two as the team pulled them apart.

Their boxing match is scheduled to take place on June 12 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
